Police recover thousands of dollars in stolen property

During the week of Aug. 1, Rockford police detectives, Day Shift M-3 Streets Team, along with detectives of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police and Northern Illinois Auto Theft Task Force executed several search warrants in relation to an ongoing investigation into stolen property.
Search warrants were executed at a residence in the 1100 block of 21st Place, and several southeast-side storage facilities as well as a residence in the 1700 block of South Sixth Street.
Investigators recovered thousands of dollars in stolen property ranging from stolen all-terrain vehicles, lawn and garden equipment, antique furniture and collectibles, along with numerous tools.
Detectives are in the process of attempting to locate owners of the stolen property.
The investigation is ongoing and arrests are anticipated in the near future.
