Police arrest Chicago man after heroin, crack cocaine found in search of 11th Street apartment

Members of the Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit received information that crack cocaine and heroin were being sold out of an apartment at 1523 11th St.
After receiving this information, an investigation began. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the lower north apartment.
Aug. 9, the search warrant was executed by members of the Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit and M3 Street teams.
One adult male was taken into custody as a result of the search warrant.
Detectives located and recovered heroin and crack cocaine that were both packaged for individual sale. United States currency was also recovered.
The male was identified as Lawrence M. Baker, 27, who advised he was from Chicago. Baker was subsequently charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession with intent to deliver cocaine. Both charges were in a drug-free zone.
Baker was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail in lieu of bond.
