Rock Valley College hosts Aug. 16 open house for Karl J. Jacobs Center for Science and Math

Rock Valley College (RVC) will host an open house for the opening of the Karl J. Jacobs Center for Science and Math from 3 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16.

The new facility is on RVC’s main campus, 3301 N. Mulford Road.

The event will be in the facility’s ground-floor lobby. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m.

Dr. Jacobs served as president of RVC from 1969 to 1997. During his tenure, multiple academic programs and building projects were formed to serve the region.

Highly respected by local leaders, Dr. Jacobs sought to meet community needs through academic and career programs at RVC.

Fall semester classes begin Saturday, Aug. 20, with weekday classes beginning Monday, Aug. 22. Classes will be held in the new Jacobs Center for Science and Math.
