Two Beloit, Wis., residents arrested for possession of $1.4 million worth of cocaine

Illinois State Police District 16 state troopers, in conjunction with the State Line Area Narcotics Team (SLANT), arrested two Beloit, Wis., residents for possession of 10 kilos of cocaine.
At approximately 12:15 p.m., Aug. 14, an Illinois State Police trooper stopped a vehicle on I-90 at Riverside Boulevard for speeding. After noticing suspicious behavior, the trooper requested the assistance of a canine. A Rockford police canine unit responded and alerted on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed 10 kilos of cocaine hidden in diaper boxes.
Amin Guillermo Velazquez, 30, and Johana J. Velazquez, 27, of the 200 block of Olympian Boulevard in Beloit, Wis., were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (class x felony).
The street value of 10 kilos of cocaine is $1.4 million.
Both subjects were incarcerated at the Winnebago County Jail pending a bond hearing on Aug. 15.
