Aug. 28 Car & Motorcycle Show benefits Rock House Kids

Rock House Kids invites you to the Rock Valley Mustang Club’s annual Car & Motorcycle Show, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011. Location is Loves Park Auto Parts & Loves Park Motorsports, 9902 N. Second St., Machesney Park. The event is a fund-raiser for Rock House Kids and will be held rain or shine.
All cars and motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to register their special vehicle from 8 a.m. to noon. Balloting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Dash Plaques for the first 100 cars along with other exciting trophies will be given. Many food items will be for sale, and a special silent auction will be held in honor of Rock House Kids.
Rock House Kids is a nonprofit organization that serves at-risk children ages 4-18. There are two evening programs, one on Monday nights for middle and high school students and one on Wednesday nights for Pre-K to fifth-grade students. The organization provides hot meals, basic life skills and a safe environment. Children are given a kid-friendly food bag when they leave the program each week. During the school year, Rock House Kids is open from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for an after-school program with free snacks and tutoring if needed.
