SwedishAmerican offers online bill payment

To provide added convenience for patients and their families, SwedishAmerican Health System has added an online bill payment feature to its website, www.swedishamerican.org.

Customers can access the new service by clicking the “Pay My Bill” icon on the home page. In addition, the service also is accessible via the Patients & Visitors section, which includes a listing of frequently asked questions.

How it works

SwedishAmerican’s online bill payment service allows for the payment of both hospital bills and clinic bills.

To use the service, customers simply need to select the correct type of bill (hospital or clinic) and provide their account number. Sample bills are available for comparison. Payment options include Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and e-checks.

“We are pleased to offer free online bill payment to our customers,” said SwedishAmerican Medical Group Business Office Director Pat Foss. “Our goal is to make online bill paying simple and secure for those who prefer doing things on the web, and this value-added service does just that. We realize patients can’t always connect with our business office to pay on their accounts during regular business hours, so this provides them with another option.”

SwedishAmerican is a not-for-profit, locally governed health care system, with headquarters in Rockford. The health system is composed of two hospitals, 30 clinics, a home health care agency, a foundation and an exclusive affiliation with UW Health.
