Winnebago County Democratic Party chairman to step down Sept. 15
Online Staff Report
Winnebago County Democratic Party Chairman Dan Lewandowski will step down from his position effective Sept. 15, at the party’s next scheduled Central Committee meeting.
Lewandowski was first elected chairman March 5, 2008, and he has served the party in this capacity since. Charles Laskonis, the current executive vice chairman, will take over the chairman position at that time.
“It has been an honor to serve in this capacity, and I want to thank everyone in the party for their friendship and continued support as I start another chapter in my life,” Lewandowski said. “The party has had great success with fund-raising, candidate recruitment, court actions, public events, media relations, and election results, to name some of our many achievements under my tenure as chairman. I have worked hard to represent the interests of working and middle-class families.”
Lewandowski will announce his future plans at a press conference at noon, Thursday, Aug. 25, at Katie’s Cup, 502 Seventh St.
