CoCo Key of Rockford collects more than 700 items in school supplies drive

Online Staff Report

Rockford’s CoCo Key Water Resort collected more than 700 items in its Aug. 22-26 school supply drive. The items will be donated to underprivileged school children in the Rockford area.

The water resort teamed up with the Rockford School District to promote the school supplies drive, in which guests who donated approved items received discounted admission to Rockford’s indoor water park.

The Clock Tower and CoCo Key thank all who came out and participated, and we thank the Rockford School District for this opportunity to give back to the community,” said General Manager Robert West. “Many guests went above and beyond, bringing more than the required donation to receive the discounted admission, and that is a great example of how much the people of Rockford care about their community.”

More than 400 discounted admissions were provided by CoCo Key during the drive. Items donated include boxes of markers and crayons, glue, notebooks and scissors, to name a few. The supplies will go to the Rockford School District’s “Back 2 School Supplies for Schools” program, which will distribute the items to needy families in the area.
