Bill Engberg Orchestra’s performance a great success
The recent free dance featuring the Bill Engberg Orchestra was a great success. Mark Rose led the band, and Angie Fellows sang. More than 260 people were at Veterans’ Memorial Hall to dance, listen and enjoy the music. Lots of people worked together to make this an enjoyable afternoon. … The photo coverage in your publication was very much appreciated. We did it all for band member Vito D’Angelo, who wanted to play those great band arrangements one more time. Unfortunately, at age 93, he has some health concerns and was only able to attend and not participate. Lots of couples young and old were on the dance floor for the three-hour program.
There are many other venues of entertainment in this city, and most of them are for younger audiences. If the public would like to have regular ballroom and big band dances, they need to contact the media and the people who run things in this city and let them know. We at least got to have this “One More Time.”
Thanks to everyone who helped on the program.
