Illinois EPA endorses ‘Let’s GO GREEN’
SOGN Productions recently received a Letter of Endorsement from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) for their “Young Eagles Success” (YES) Club Vision to accentuate environmental education and awareness for students and families in northern Illinois and beyond. “Let’s GO GREEN” (LGG) was created by SOGN founder and CEO, Professor Carl A. Cole, as a new song composition and fall theme for the YES Club. View the letter and hear the song on the SOGN website.
The song was performed by the YES Club Choir at the Illinois State Fair “Conservation Day” in Springfield. The group represented the Rockford Park District for the fifth year in a row. Now, Cole intends to use the tune to make their first music video.
The Illinois EPA letter stated, in part: “This new initiative is aimed to increase the awareness of environmental protection and prevention of pollution. We believe that it is important for the entire community to take part in helping educate our youth in environmental education and awareness, and the SOGN assists in making that happen.
“The Illinois EPA acknowledges SOGN leaders, Professor Carl Cole and his wife Dianna Cole as recipients of the Illinois Association of Park Districts & Illinois Park and Recreation Association 2007 ‘Community Service Award,’ presented by the Rockford Park District. We also recognize the continuing participation of their ‘YES’ Choir in the annual ‘Conservation Day’ celebration at the Illinois State Fair and applaud their accomplishments of using music to teach students respect and responsibility.”
