Rules / Regulations are put in place when companies and people are found to be doing things they should not. If all people and companies were fair and ethical no rules and regulations would be needed. The sound bite of "Excessive Regulations" is just that a sound bite. List the rules that need to go see if they make sense. Certainly removing the regulations on Banks and Wall Street was not such a good idea it led to our current econony, and sadly those rules have yet to be put back into place.

Unfortunately, industries do not seem to be able to regulate themselves. Most of the largers one's are driven by greed. Some regulations could and should be dumped. However, OSHA, EPA, health rules have all helped the American worker. If the finance industry had been regulated and observed properly, most of the mess we are now in would not have occurred.
