Sept. 19 deadline to file assessment complaints

The deadline for filing an assessment complaint with the Winnebago County Board of Review has been extended to Sept. 19.

Extraordinary delays at a Postal Service Distribution Center in the Chicago suburbs caused some assessment notices to be delivered a week later than expected, so the deadline is being extended by one week.

Winnebago County regrets any problems the delayed delivery has caused, and is extending the deadline so all taxpayers will have at least 30 days to prepare their assessment complaint.

Complaint forms are available on the Board of Review website, bor.wincoil.us, in the Supervisor of Assessments Office, Room 301, 404 Elm St., in downtown Rockford, or by calling (815) 319-4460.
