La Voz Latina holds 40th anniversary banquet Sept. 23

La Voz Latina welcomes the community to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the achievements of local Hispanics at their annual banquet Friday, Sept. 23, at Cliffbreakers. The agency is celebrating its 40th anniversary of serving the Latino community in northern Illinois.
The event will honor retiring Executive Director Patricia Gomez, who has served the agency in various capacities over the past 20 years. Awards will also be presented honoring local “Latinos of Distinction” whose educational and professional achievements have inspired the Latino community.
Proceeds from the event will benefit La Voz Latina’s Youth Department programs and scholarships. La Voz Latina is a Latino community resource center committed to promoting the progress and serving the needs of Latinos in this region. A United Way community partner, La Voz Latina provides multiple services to more than 6,000 local residents annually.
As always, the event will feature Latino culture, music and cuisine. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for networking, followed by dinner and a short program at 6 p.m. Live music will be provided by Revolucion de Amor. Individual tickets are $50. A corporate-named table for eight is available for $600.
