Machesney Park man arrested on cannabis charges

State Line Area Narcotics Team (SLANT), in conjunction with Loves Park Police, Rockford Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration, arrested a Machesney Park man on drug charges.

Troy W. Johnson, 40, of the 10000 block of Queen Oaks Drive, Machesney Park, was arrested after agents located a cannabis growing operation inside a garage owned by Johnson. Seized as a result of the investigation were 36 cannabis plants.

Johnson was charged with unlawful manufacture of cannabis sativa plants, a class 3 felony.

Class 3 felonies are punishable by two to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Johnson was incarcerated at the Winnebago County Jail.
