To all the rockfordians; I am leaving a message regarding amerock corporation. I use to work at amerock on auburn street. Employment, Between 1987 through early 1992 years, and not aware of pollution problems like this;if workers were doing this, why wasn't these toxics- waste tested for danger, etc and proper places other than creeks, rivers in the ground to dispose waste. Workers back then were told in many cases to do what their formans told them to do or there was the door. Ashame! this has happened. Proper testing should have been in place to test for dangers before disposing on the outside. I was shocked for the articles I Read. It is probably costing the taxpayers tons of money for research.etc. I hope this hugh problem will find resolutions soon so people do not end up with illnesses in the blood, cancer etc. I never would have dreamed that a company like this Amerock a hugh money maker in the past would have caused this problem with waste issues thinking there should have been better ways to rid of waste accumulated. wiser solutions should have been implemented to bite this problem in the back end years ago, somehow. Instead of pinching the dollars in the company for other things, waste handling should have been one of the big areas to put money into, so now there's consequences to deal with. Sorry to hear this Rockford for this problem. A company like this amerock I put eyars into and believed in the company's standards etc, I hear this happening. Shows everyone that companies need to put their money into areas thats needed and waste yes one of the important areas a must to care about where waste should be buried at, not later on hearing about toxic waste developing and causing possible cancers/illnesses. Not right! Humans safety should always come first. I hope the ones who knows anything about the waste in Rockford, employees or bosses of amerock who knows about it or who they are hear my words and hits home with you. You know who you are.
