Gender theorist Kate Bornstein will lecture at Rockford College’s Maddox Theatre inside the college’s Clark Arts Center beginning at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6.
Bornstein is an author, playwright and performance artist. She’s best known for her ground-breaking books on post-modern gender theory, Gender Outlaw: On Men, Women and the Rest of Us and My Gender Workbook.
Her 2006 Hello, Cruel World: 101 Alternatives To Suicide For Teens, Freaks and Other Outlaws is a runaway underground best-seller.
Bornstein’s books are taught in colleges and universities around the world, and she has performed their work live on college campuses and in theaters and performance spaces across North America, Europe and Australia.
