NAACP presents special Appreciation Award to Anthony Foreman
Friday, Oct. 7, the Rockford Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will present a special Appreciation Award to Anthony S. Foreman, the owner of JT’s Bourbon Street Grille. Because of a previous catering engagement in Elgin, Foreman could not be present at the prestigious Freedom Fund Awards ceremony held at the Radisson Hotel and Convention Center Friday, Sept. 30.
Lloyd Johnston, president of the Rockford Branch of the NAACP, will present the Appreciation Award at JT’s Bourbon Street Grille, 1407 N. Main St., during the NIMCA-sponsored First Friday in October at 6 p.m. At that time, minority proprietors in the northern Illinois region network their businesses over dinner, followed by a meet-and-greet.
This event is open to the public, and a wonderful Southern, eclectic buffet is served at a cost of $7. This is a special occasion for Foreman, in which he promises an exceptional dinner as a reminder of the harvest season, with the coming of autumn, when food is plentiful.
