Two Rockford men arrested on heroin charges

Members of the Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, working jointly with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI, had been investigating a subject who was reportedly selling drugs in the 500 block of South Third Street, as well as other areas within the city of Rockford.
During the investigation, it was determined two individuals were involved with selling heroin. The subjects were identified as Deangelo L. Doss, 26, of Rockford, and Laudrell Baylock, 24, of Rockford.
The investigation concluded Oct. 5 with the arrests of Doss and Baylock.
During the investigation, several grams of suspected heroin were recovered, as well as United States currency and cannabis. Both Doss and Baylock were lodged at Winnebago County Jail. Baylock is currently on parole for a drug offense.
Doss was charged with delivery of a controlled substance less than 1 gram within 1,000 feet of Rockford Housing Authority property, delivery of a controlled substance 1-15 grams within 1,000 feet of a church and delivery of a controlled substance 1-15 grams.
Baylock was charged with delivery of a controlled substance 1-15 grams.
Bond for both Doss and Baylock has yet to be set by a judge.
