Mendelssohn presents ‘A Little Liszt’ Oct. 10 at Emerson House

Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center will present a Music on Main Concert titled “A Little Liszt” at 5:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 10, at the historic Emerson House, 420 N. Main St., Rockford.
Suggested donation is $10. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Shelter Care Ministries. Doors open at 5 p.m. Seating is limited.
The program will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Franz Liszt, one of the greatest composers and pianists of all time who lived like a rock star back in the 19th century.
Performers will include pianists Marilyn Cade, Margaret Dean, Patricia Jeske and Jessica Parker, and vocalist Cathy Herdeman, accompanied by pianist Rulee Stallmann, with readings by Rufus Cadigan.
“Music on Main” is the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center’s series of brief and intimate after-work concerts, held at the Emerson House in the heart of downtown Rockford. Attendees experience beautiful music, mingle with the artists, enjoy complimentary wine and cheese, and relax with their friends.
“Music on Main” performances take place on the second Monday of the month, September to November and February to May.
