Cello students Julian Willette and Roger VanDeburgh performed with Instructor Richard Evans in the Choir Room on the third floor of Loreen Hall for the grand opening of the Music Academy’s new home at 226 S. Second St. Don’t forget to join everyone at the Music Academy at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 16, in the Sanctuary of First Lutheran Church of Rockford, 225 S. Third St., to enjoy a concert by Music Academy’s violin faculty member, Rachel Handlin, performing an all-Brahms concert titled “Brahms x Three” along with friends Jesse Parker and Becky Asher. This concert is part of First Lutheran’s Sounds from the Sanctuary 2011/2012 Concert Series. This free-will concert will help offset the cost of the new $30,000 roof on Loreen Hall, the wonderful new home of the Music Academy! (Photo by Frank Schier)
