Rockford’s Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum is offering paranormal tours of the museum on Friday nights throughout October.
Tours will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m., Fridays, Oct. 14, 21 and 28. Cost is $15 per person, and reservations are preferred. Call (815) 964-2424 or e-mail email@example.com to make reservations.
Tours will begin at the museum’s Visitor Center at 7 p.m., and a special guest will be featured each Friday night. Special guests will include an author, a historian and a paranormal researcher.
A historical presentation about Victorian mourning customs and spiritualism will be presented, and much of the paranormal evidence that has been caught in the past will be shown to the visitors.
After the presentations, the group will be given a night tour of Robert Tinker’s Victorian mansion. Historically, there have been at least eight funerals in the mansion, so the parlor of the house is decorated as if there is a funeral going on with a coffin and appropriate decorations.
Tours are generally limited to 25 to 30 people, which is why reservations are preferred.
Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum is at 411 Kent St., Rockford. Visit www.tinkercottage.com for more details.
