Winners named in Tinker’s PASTForward art exhibit

Winners in Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum’s PASTForward: The Art of Place, Space and Imagination art competition, held at Burpee Museum of Natural History, were announced Friday, Sept. 23.

All of the artwork in the exhibit, which remains on display through Oct. 30, was inspired by Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum. The artwork ranges from paintings to photos to 3-D.

Following are the winners of the competition:

Best of Show Willard Dorr Memorial Winner — Thomas Trausch, of Woodstock, Ill., for his painting, “Tinker’s Toy.”

Second-Place Fine Art Award Winner — Jeanne Ludeke, of Rockford, for her painting, “Mrs. Tinker’s Covered Bowl.”

Third-Place Fine Art Winner — Donna Thomas, of Belvidere, Ill., for her painted egg, “Tinker’s Swiss Cottage.”

Second-Place Photography and People’s Choice Award winner — Jerome Jones, of Caledonia, Ill., for his photo, “Tinker Swiss Cottage.”

Patti Bachman was the winner of the raffle for the William Dorr print.

The art will remain on display in the Mahlburg Auditorium in the Burpee Museum of Natural History, 737 N. Main St. The works of art are also for sale, but if the painting or photo has been purchased, a sign on the work will say “Sold.”
