Rockford resident selected ‘Hero in Long-Term Care’

Rockford resident Doris Wigell was recently selected a “hero” in long-term care by the Health Care Council of Illinois. Wigell is a resident at Alden Debes Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 6141 Elaine Drive, Rockford. She was recognized for positively impacting the facility’s “quality of life,” which includes helping the staff and residents with activities and programs. She is one of nearly 100 individuals throughout Illinois who were honored as part of National Nursing Home Week. Wigell received a certificate of recognition.
Jodi Wubbena, administrator at Alden Debes, said: “We are honored to have Doris as a resident. She is always helpful as she welcomes new residents and makes them feel at home while also getting them acclimated to the facility. Doris truly is a gift to this facility, and we are lucky to have her.”
