Rockton’s Haunted Treasure Island set for Oct. 22

Rockton’s Haunted Treasure Island is being planned for 2-6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, in Settler’s Park, and promises fun for everyone.

Treasure chests will surround a vintage boat in hopes that visitors bring home special goods. The Broken Barn scarecrow decorating contest only taps the surface of merriment.

Pirates, mates or other creatures will appear on the Island, guaranteed full of color and spookiness!

Talcott Library will be doing stories by the jack-o-lantern. Other activities will include various games, prize giveaways, pinatas, a bat cave and pumpkin decorating.

There are no age restrictions. Anyone interested in taking part will be asked to pay $5 either per family or person. If you want to spruce up your scarecrow, bring accessories. Three savings bonds will be awarded as prizes.
