Rockford man sentenced to three years for 2010 battery of father

Kevin Hansen, 34, pled guilty to aggravated battery to a senior citizen and was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Judge Gary Pumilia Oct. 25.
Dec. 12, 2010, members of the Rockford Police Department responded to a resident in Rockford in reference to a domestic battery complaint. Upon arrival, police spoke with the complainant, who was 63 years old. The complainant said his son, Kevin Hansen, threw various items at him and one of the items struck him on his body.
Aggravated battery to a senior citizen has a sentencing range of two to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections or probation. Because of the defendant’s criminal history, the sentencing range is eligible for an extended term of two to 10 years in the Department of Corrections.
