Three suspicious people — one armed with gun — arrested after forcing lockdown of three Rockford elementary schools

Three Rockford elementary schools were placed on lockdown for less than an hour Wednesday, Nov. 2, after staff at King Elementary School contacted police regarding three suspicious people — one armed with a gun — near the school.
King Elementary, 1306 S. Court St., Barbour Language Academy, 1506 Clover Ave., and Washington Gifted Academy, 1421 West St., were placed on lockdown around 10:45 a.m., while police responded to the call. The three individuals were arrested, the area secured, and the lockdown was lifted at 11:30 a.m.
