‘Winter Wonderland’ at Summerfield Zoo Nov. 5-6

BELVIDERE, Ill. — Belvidere’s Summerfield Zoo presents its Second Annual “Winter Wonderland” event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 6.

Summerfield Zoo Board of Directors member Margaret Tyler explained: “Winter Wonderland at Summerfield Zoo is going to be a magical event! Don’t miss the chance to take your best Christmas card picture ever — with live reindeer and elves.”

Admission is $5 per person, and all proceeds go to the care of the animals, many of which are rescues. This is the last weekend the zoo will be open for the 2011 season.

The weekend will include live reindeer, elves, Mrs. Claus and face painting. Enjoy animal presentations, the petting zoo and shop in the gift shop.

Summerfield Zoo is a not-for-profit organization providing an up-close and personal animal experience for the whole family. As a small zoo, visitors can get up close and meet many of the animals at Summerfield Zoo.
