Sheriff’s Office releases new photo of suspect in Nov. 12 murder on Perryville and Linden roads

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office has released a new photo (at right) of Luis Eduardo Anaya, 22, who is wanted for the Nov. 12 murder of 23-year-old Brandon M. Wright, of Rockford.
Anyone with information about Anaya, who remains at large, is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (815) 319-6300 or Crime Stoppers at (815) 963-7867.
At approximately 1:43 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to Perryville and Linden Road in regard to a shooting.
Upon arrival, the deputies located a vehicle in a field off the roadway with a male behind the wheel of the vehicle. The male, later identified as Wright, was deceased and had an apparent gunshot wound.
Preliminary information developed at the scene indicates shots were fired, possibly from another vehicle, and a round penetrated a window of Wright’s vehicle and he was struck, then lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
