‘Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ takes stage in Woodstock
WOODSTOCK, Ill. — A cast of 32 local adults and children star in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at the Woodstock Opera House in Woodstock, Ill.
The play opens the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 25, at 8 p.m., right after the annual lighting of the Historic Square.
In this hilarious Christmas tale, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids, probably the most inventively awful kids in history.
Directing the cast of 24 children and eight adults is Kathie Comella, long-time actor and veteran director of a dozen holiday shows. She is assisted by the production staff of Beth Davis, Elaine Riner, Janie Czarny, Barry Norton, Mary Beth Brown, Jen Prise and Mary Wood. Nora Brown will play the piano for the pageant.
The play opens Nov. 25 at Woodstock Opera House, 121 Van Buren St., Woodstock, Ill. Shows are at 8 p.m., Nov. 25-26; 4 p.m., Nov. 27; 8 p.m., Dec. 2; 2 and 8 p.m., Dec. 3; and 3 p.m., Dec. 4.
