Local MoveOn.org members to protest outside Manzullo’s office Dec. 1
Online Staff Report
At 12:15 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, local members of MoveOn.org will hold a speak-out outside of U.S. Rep. Don Manzullo’s office to demand he stop protecting tax breaks for the millionaires on Wall Street and start standing up for the 99 percent.
The speak-out is part of a national day of action taking place at congressional offices across the country to demand that Congress focus on creating jobs and making the tax system work for all Americans, not just the super-rich.
Manzullo’s office is at 415 S. Mulford Road, Rockford.
The day of action comes as Congress is gearing up to vote on a payroll tax cut that would extend tax cuts for middle-class families and pay for them by imposing a tax on income over $1 million.
MoveOn members will be telling their stories at this event and presenting written letters to Manzullo
The speak-out is being organized by the new American Dream Movement. The American Dream Movement is a growing movement inspired by protests in Wisconsin.

Message to MoveOn, American Dream Movement, and Infest Wall Street:
I am part of the 99% that feel all of the protestors need to go to work rather than complain about not getting a government hand out.
WORK to improve this nation by insisting on less government and less taxes rather than dragging the nation down the path of the Roman Empire!
A government large enough to give you what you want is also large enough to take everything you have.
Stand up for rugged individualism, and show the world what makes America the Great Nation.
Why no “Occupy a Democrat” activities? After all, most Democrats around this state do little beyond line their own pockets with Union “donations” and public pensions?
Their “we represent the 99%” is a bunch of crap. These free-loaders DO NOT REPRESENT ME! They are left-wingers bent on stealing from the middle and upper class to give to people too lazy or too stupid to work for a living.
Wanna bet Stanley Campbell is leading the pack?
P.S. the “New American Dream Movement” was cofounded by Van Jones, the ex-Obama green Energy Czar.
For you neophytes, Van Jones was previously involved in the Bay Area STORM (Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement) Marxist Group.
Yeah, I’m sure he cares about the “American Dream”.
So far all these commenters are primed and ready to broadcast the prescribed conservative responses to the Occupy movement.
It’s really too bad that rugged individualists such as yourselves are naive enough to believe that any of your conservative representative will be protecting the fair market (which doesn’t exist without actual competition, and reflects life in that way) capitalism that once allowed us to be economically solvent.
The 99% idealogy does not have to be a “liberal” thing. Ultimately, the issue of big government is a decoy to keep you duck hunting while corporations push whatever policies protect their bottom line. That’s an issue that BOTH SIDES of the aisle should be addressing.
Keep on trolling, guys.
