Dec. 2-3 ‘A Holly Jolly Market’ features 35 vendors at Millennium Center

Rockford City Market will host “A Holly Jolly Market” from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2-3, at The Millennium Center, 220 S. Madison St.
“A Holly Jolly Market” will feature more than 35 vendors and artists, live music, kids’ activities, food, beer and wine. Also, enjoy a stroll through a Christmas Tree Walk featuring 20 decorated trees outside under the pavilion.
Vendors will include Woodfire Brick Oven Pizza, Wind Ridge Herb Farm, Zammuto’s, Café Woof le Purr (formerly Four Paws), Candle Crest, Javamania, Jewelry by Katie M, The Paper Button, The Sweetery, Very Cute by Vanna Wallace, Pasta Cucina, Bella Luna Bakery and more.
The live music and activities schedule is as follows:
Friday, Dec. 2
• Singer, songwriter Emily Hurd will perform from 5 to 8 p.m.
• Visit the Kids’ Corner from 5 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 3
• Hear performances by area Children’s Choirs from 5 to 7 p.m
• Chat with Santa Claus from 5 to 7 p.m.
Downtown businesses open doors
While downtown, check out the following new stores opening their doors just in time for the holiday shopping:
Minglewood and Plush, 510 E. State St., will host a grand-opening party this weekend. Minglewood recently moved from Broadway to the 500 block of East State Street to share space with Plush Boutique.
On Thursday-Saturday, enjoy the 1-2-3 Holiday Sale on all new inventory — buy one item and get 10 percent off, buy two items and get 15 percent off or buy three or more and get 20 percent off entire sale. Excludes final sale items, which are already marked down up to 75 percent off.

Salvaged by Sonya, 110 N. First St., is having a grand-opening from 4 to 7 p.m., Dec. 2. Salvaged by Sonya is a new downtown business featuring refurbished and repurposed home items, antiques, collectibles and jewelry. The store will take items on consignment. Salvaged by Sonya will initially be open weekends and by appointment Monday-Friday.
