Public comments on Police Department sought Dec. 11
As the final step in concluding an approximately three-year accreditation process, the City of Rockford Police Department has invited a team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) to examine all aspects of the Rockford Police Department’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services. The CALEA assessors will arrive Sunday, Dec. 11. The analysis is expected to last approximately four days.
As part of the on-site assessment, the public and agency employees are invited to offer comments from 2-4 p.m., Dec. 11. The session will be conducted at the Patriots’ Gateway Community Center, 615 S. Fifth St., Rockford.
If for some reason an individual cannot speak at the public information session but would still like to provide comments to the assessment team, he/she may do so by telephone. The public may call (815) 961-3225 on Monday, Dec. 12, between the hours of 1-3 p.m. For the hearing impaired, call the Rockford Police Department TTY at (815) 967-7052.
