State Police share summary of November enforcement activity

PECATONICA, Ill. — During the month of November, Illinois State Police (ISP) District 16 Troopers handled 1,863 incidents, which included 102 calls and requests for service reported by telephone, other public safety agencies and walk-in requests. The remaining 1,761 incidents were initiated in the field by troopers on patrol.
During the month of November, troopers issued 606 citations and 277 warnings for speeding, and made 12 arrests for driving under the influence. Troopers issued 221 safety belt citations. All other violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code observed by ISP District 16 Troopers resulted in 361 citations and 778 warnings being issued.
ISP District 16 Troopers also made 18 criminal arrests, investigated 35 traffic crashes and assisted 166 motorists. Two traffic crash fatalities were reported in ISP District 16 for the month of November.
Troopers inspected 106 commercial vehicles for compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the month of November. Of the commercial vehicles inspected, 30 were placed out of services for driver or vehicle violations.
ISP District 16 serves Boone, Winnebago, Stephenson and Jo Daviess counties.
