Winnebago County candidates face objections at Dec. 16, 19 hearings

The Winnebago County Electoral Board will meet at 9 a.m., Friday, Dec. 16, to hear objections to the petitions of candidates Brian Jenkins Leggero, Michael Leifheit, Ricky Davis and Michael Castronovo.
Jenkins Leggero, a Republican, has filed to run for the County Board District 8 seat against fellow Republicans John H. Harmon, Michael Kleen and Dianne Parvin. No Democrats filed to run for the seat.
Leifheit, a Democrat, has filed to run for the County Board District 12 seat against fellow Democrats Isidro B. Barrios and Julio Salgado. David L. Strommer is running unopposed in the Republican primary for the same seat.
Davis, a Republican, has filed to run against fellow Republican Gary Jury for the District 7 seat. No Democrats filed to run for the seat.
Castronovo has filed to run for Winnebago County Board chairman against current Winnebago County Board Chairman Scott Christiansen in the Republican primary. No Democrats filed to run for the seat.
The Electoral Board will meet again at 9 a.m., Monday, Dec. 19, to hear objections to the petitions of candidates Joseph Bruscato and David M. Gill.
Bruscato, the current Winnebago County State’s Attorney, has filed to run for re-election. He would not face an opponent in the Democratic primary, although Glen R. Weber and Gill have filed to run as Republicans.
Both meetings will be on the eighth floor of the Winnebago County Courthouse in the County Board room.
