Police investigate possible homicide after man found dead in back yard on South Fourth Street

Rockford police are investigating a possible homicide after a man was found dead in the back yard of a house at 1802 S. Fourth St., Rockford.

Terry Johnson, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:40 a.m., Monday, Dec. 19.

The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office announced it will conduct an autopsy Dec. 20 and toxicology tests will be available in approximately two weeks.
