Loves Park man arrested on heroin, cocaine charges

Deon A. Conley, 30, of the 100 block of Pennsylvania Ave., Loves Park, was arrested and charged with one count of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance (heroin), a class X felony; one count of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance (cocaine), a class X felony; and two counts of armed violence, both class X felonies.

The arrest of Conley comes after agents from the State Line Area Narcotics Team (SLANT) and members of the Illinois State Police S.W.A.T. team executed a search warrant at Conley’s Loves Park residence. Seized as a result of the search warrant were 17 grams of crack cocaine, 8 grams of heroin and a .40 caliber handgun.

Class X felonies are punishable by six to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
