Instant Tax Service holds toy, food and clothing drive Dec. 23

Instant Tax Service will hold a toy, food and clothing drive from noon to 4 p.m., Friday, Dec. 23, at its offices, 1111 1/4 N. Avon St., Rockford.

Regional Manager J.R. Riley said: “We are giving away $2,000 in toys along with Power 106.3 also giving away toys along with collecting coats and clothes, and non-perishable foods that can be donated and given out to needy families. We have teamed up with Power 106.3, PNC Bank, The Help Center of Northern Illinois, Cricket and WeGotBiz.com. They are all donating their products and services, along with my employees volunteering their time to give out burgers, hot dogs and pizza to the families coming to get the toys.”

The event includes raffles of a 26-inch flat-screen TV, a tablet and $100 every hour from noon to 4 p.m. with a DJ on site. People can also sign up for the chance to become a VIP client, entitling them to come back Dec. 26 to either of the Instant Tax Service locations at 1238 Broadway or 1111 1/4 N. Avon (next to the currency exchange) for a Holiday Loan Check in the amount of $50 to $1,000.

Riley added: “I understand times are rough nowadays, so I want to help my community by making things a bit easier financially, and since every working person needs to get their taxes done, why not come to us? I want to also reach out to help other businesses that want to connect with our company; the more tax returns they send to us, the more we can donate to a business.”
