Meet with Charlie Brown and the gang one last time before the Peanuts … Naturally exhibition closes at Rockford’s Discovery Center.
The exhibition is open through Sunday, Jan. 8. Discovery Center will be offering free admission to the Peanuts exhibit on closing weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 7-8, with general admission of $7 for the public.
Join the museum for special nature activities, art and crafts from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday. Design a birdfeeder for Woodstock and his friends, create a ring that changes in sunlight, outline a glowing Snoopy constellation, and more. Snoopy will be at the museum to give hugs and pose for pictures. Peanuts-related merchandise will be 50 percent off at the museum’s gift shop.
Peanuts … Naturally, takes a light-hearted look at Charles Schulz’s exploration of the natural world through Peanuts comic strips, videos, objects and interactive stations. Visitors get a Peanuts-eye view of the universe, “web of nature,” trees, birds, the elements (snow, wind, rain and clouds), gardening, and Charlie Brown’s EPA escapade. More scientifically-oriented interactive stations allow kids of all ages, from pre-school to adults, to learn more about and appreciate the wonders of the natural world.
Peanuts … Naturally is organized and toured by the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center, Santa Rosa, Calif. Discovery Center is the second museum in the nation to secure this exhibition.
