Rockford’s Franchesco’s Ristorante has announced it will offer monthly pizza specials throughout the 2012 calendar year. A portion of proceeds of charity pizza sales will benefit select local charities.
January kicks off the series, with proceeds benefiting Rockford Rescue Mission, an organization that moves people from homelessness and despair toward personal and spiritual wholeness. A new local charity and pizza special will be announced each month.
The charity pizzas will be available to go, seven days a week, for lunch or dinner. Patrons may choose to pick up in the restaurant or through the drive-through window. Each pizza is available as a large for $15.95, with $1 each being donated to that month’s charity.
Ben Salamone, Franchesco’s owner, said: “We are thrilled to begin 2012 by giving back to the community through our delicious pizza. We hope to draw awareness to all of Rockford’s charities by featuring a new special monthly.”
Following by month are the benefiting charities and the monthly pizza special:
January — Rockford Rescue Mission, Saul’s Meat Lover’s Special Pizza (sausage, pepperoni, bacon, Canadian bacon, onion and jalapeno)
February — American Heart Association, Mediterranean Pizza (heart-shaped with olive oil, red onion, red and yellow pepper, spinach, fresh mushrooms, sliced tomatoes and garlic)
March — Boys and Girls Club of Rockford, Franchesco’s Four Cheese Pizza (Provolone, mozzarella, cheddar and jack cheeses)
