RVC student’s poem chosen for publication in distinguished anthology

Literary works from 16 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members, including one work from a Rock Valley College (RVC) student, have been chosen from 950 entries for publication in the 2011 edition of Nota Bene, PTK’s honors anthology.

Nota Bene, which is distributed internationally, showcases outstanding writing by community college students and emphasizes the opportunities for excellence found at community colleges.

RVC student Rachel Talan had her poem, “Clumsy,” selected for publication in Nota Bene.

PTK Honor Society, with headquarters in Jackson, Miss., is the largest honor society in higher education with 1,275 chapters on college campuses in all 50 of the United States, Canada, Germany, Peru, the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the British Virgin Islands, the United Arab Emirates and U.S. territorial possessions. More than 2.5 million students have been inducted since its founding in 1918, with approximately 125,000 students inducted annually.
