Rockford College named a Military Friendly school
Rockford College is included in the top 20 percent of colleges and universities in the U.S. to accommodate students with military experience by the 2012 list of Military Friendly Schools, published by G.I Jobs magazine.
The list honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students.
Rockford College is among the 1,518 colleges, universities and trade schools on the 2012 list that prioritize the recruitment of students with military experience.
The 2012 list was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 8,000 schools nationwide. Methodology, criteria and weighting for the list were developed with the assistance of an Academic Advisory Board (AAB) consisting of educators from schools across the country.
Rockford College Vice President for Enrollment Management Barrett Bell said: “We proudly participate in the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement program and welcome diversity, leadership and the life experiences veteran students bring to the classroom. It is impossible to thank our veterans adequately for their sacrifice and service to our country. Being a partner in their efforts to achieve their education goals is one way we can give back, and we are honored to do so.”
