Interesting. The teachers at Roosevelt were told that it is a done deal. The decision has been made. The company that the district contracted with Ombudsmen plans to bring in its own teachers. Is this just show so the people in Rockford can think they had some input?
Why would people even bother to attend this meeting? Have they learned nothing about how the school district works in this district? The district will sit there and listen to the people spout off and give their opinions and when all is said and done they will go ahead and do it how they want. This was a done deal even before it was announced to the public.
It is not a done deal. Board members and administrators might have their minds set – but some of them are still on the fence. Roosevelt is pushing hard to speak up and defend Roosevelt. Join the Defend Roosevelt facebook page and learn more!
And check out this link for an interesting statement about Ombudsman – Roosevelt’s replacement.

I learned today that teachers were told they could take books from the library since the students won’t need them next year. Sounds like a done deal to me.
I wish I was a confident as you are, Roosevelt, but my experience with this district the last two plus years is exactly what VeryModest posted…they act as if they hear you, but the truth is…90% of the time it’s a done deal before we even heard about it. I could give you numerous examples.
