I am extremely proud of these US Marines for their trailblazing efforts and valor in defending our country in the Pacific in the 1940's during WWII. My father, Averitte W. Corley, is one of the original Montford Point Marines at the age of 84. He and his comrades welcome the acknowledgement of this prestigious honor from US Congress and President Obama - what a tribute!! I salute ALL US Military staff for serving and I stand in the shadows of these US Marines from Montford Point; heroes forever as we preserve the legacy.
