Police release name of suspect in March 2 bank robbery

Rockford police have identified 26-year-old William Joseph Farrell as the suspect in the March 2 robbery of the BMO Harris Bank at 3202 McFarland Road.
Farrell is wanted on a warrant with a charge of aggravated robbery, with bond set at $500,000. He is also wanted on a robbery warrant for a credit union robbery in the jurisdiction of Eureka, Calif., and a warrant issued out of Kane County, Illinois, in reference to a failure to appear warrant.
According to a press release from the Rockford Police Department, additional charges are possible in this case.
The BMO Harris Bank on McFarland Road was robbed March 2 when a man approached the counter, implied he was armed with a firearm, and took money from the teller. The suspect, described as a white male, then ran to a waiting car and fled the area.
