Rockford man killed in motorcycle accident

Michael A. Fischer, 21, of Rockford, was killed Sunday, March 18, when he was thrown from his motorcycle after colliding with a 1987 Pontiac Fiero in the 9300 block of Kelley Road in Winnebago, Ill.
The driver of the Fiero, a 17-year-old male, was seriously injured in the crash and was airlifted to an area hospital.
Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police said the crash occurred around 9:30 p.m., March 18, on a rural county road south of Winnebago.
Blood tests showed Fischer was intoxicated at the time of the crash, according to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office. He was also not wearing a helmet.
No charges have been filed in the crash, which is under investigation.
