Former East High security guard pleads guilty to indecent solicitation of a child, aggravated criminal sexual abuse

Shaun George, 33, pled guilty April 2 to the charges of indecent solicitation of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse in front of the Judge Rosemary Collins.
Nov. 19, 2010, the principal of Rockford East High School reported that there was a possible inappropriate sexual relationship involving a security guard at East, George, and a 15-year-old student. Through an investigation, it was determined the defendant had sent inappropriate e-mails soliciting a student to have a relationship with him.
During the investigation, it was determined George was having an inappropriate sexual relationship with another student who was 17 years.
Indecent solicitation is a class 2 felony with a sentencing range of three to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Aggravated criminal sexual abuse is a class 2 felony with a sentencing range of three to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Sentences can run concurrent or consecutive and will be at the discretion of the judge.
Sentencing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., May 16, in courtroom 478 with Judge Collins.
