Man sentenced to 14 years for 2009 home invasion, armed robbery

Christopher Tolliver, 26, was sentenced April 10 to 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the offense of home invasion and armed robbery. Tolliver pled guilty to the charges Jan. 3.
Nov. 10, 2009, Tolliver and three other males broke into a residence on Ninth Avenue while armed with weapons and then demanded money and drugs from the resident. Tolliver and the others fled when police arrived.
Tolliver was found hiding in the backseat of a vehicle in the area. He was in possession of a digital camera that was identified by the resident as being stolen from the residence. The resident also identified Tolliver as one of the suspects who entered her home.
Home invasion is a class X felony with a sentencing range of six to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Armed robbery is a class X felony with a sentencing range of six to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
