RACVB seeks recommendations for Tourism Hall of Fame — deadline April 17

Online Staff Report

Each year the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau honors citizens or organizations in our community who’ve had a significant impact on the tourism industry by inducting them into the Tourism Hall of Fame. These people put forth extraordinary efforts, often over a long period of time, making vital contributions to the visitor industry. RACVB recognizes the honorees at its annual breakfast meeting each year. Previous winners include former Rockford Park District Executive Director Webbs Norman, business leaders Sunil Puri and Jim Keeling, Rockford City Market, Anderson Japanese Gardens founder John Anderson, Barb Lunde and John Nelson with the Swedish Historical Society of Rockford, Jake and Cindy Karau with Rockford BMX, Ken and Jeanann Whitmore with Kiwanis, West High School Reunions and more.

If you would like to recommend a person or organization you believe has made a significant contribution to the tourism industry, please contact RACVB’s Lauren Sanderson at lsanderson@gorockford.com or (815) 489-1673. The deadline for recommendations is Tuesday, April 17.
