Veterans Education and Benefit Fair April 18 at RVC

The Rock Valley College (RVC) Veterans Education Association will be sponsoring a Veterans Education and Benefits Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, in the Student Center Atrium on RVC’s main campus, 3301 N. Mulford Road.
There will be numerous representatives from the Rockford area providing information regarding benefits and services for veterans, including: the Department of Veterans Affairs — Benefits, Services, Counseling and Mental Health; Vet Center; Veterans’ Drop-in Center; Health eVet website; Circle of Change; Vietnam Veterans of America; Viet Now; Korean War Veterans of America; American Legion; Military Order of the Purple Heart; Veterans Assistance Commission of Winnebago County; Rockford Park District; Oscar Mike Foundation; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Rock Valley College Admissions and Financial Aid.
These participants will be able to assist veterans with questions about employment, counseling services available, GI Bill benefits, State of Illinois veteran benefits, RVC enrollment and classes, health care, assistance for the homeless, and re-integration into society after military service.
The Military Order of the Purple Heart of Illinois will also bring the Traveling Memorial Wall of Honor for display at RVC for the event. This will be the first time this Wall of Honor has ever been displayed anywhere in Rockford.
