Rockford’s Midway Village Museum paid tribute to the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic Saturday, April 14, with a Titanic Centennial Dinner. Pictured, staff and volunteers prepare to serve their Third-Class “passengers.” The Titanic was a passenger liner that sank on its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic Ocean April 15, 1912, after hitting an iceberg. In one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history, 1,514 people lost their lives. The passenger liner carried 2,223 people. (Photo by Jon McGinty)
